Government has constructed a 1 by 2 classroom block at Lolesha Primary School in Mpulungu, Northern province.
This is through the disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- at a cost of 3-hundred and 27-thousand kwacha.
And DMMU National Coordinator, Chanda Kabwe says government will continue to rebuild public infrastructure, such as schools, which were destroyed by natural calamities.
He says government under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu attaches great importance to the education sector as it is the beacon of national development.
Mr. Kabwe has disclosed that DMMU will soon commence the construction of an additional one by three classroom block at the school to cater for the growing number of pupils.
He said this in an interview with ZANIS, after he and Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Royd Chakaba inspected the school.
And Mr. Chakaba thanked DMMU for rebuilding school infrastructure damaged by heavy rains in the province.
He added that the construction of another classroom block at the school will provide pupils with a conducive learning environment.
